Firstly, if you are not already registered, you will need to register your details before an ad can be placed. Click on the Register link as shown below and fill in your details.
Now you are logged in,
either:
Click the 'Place an ad' tab. Step1 page opens up with Oxfordshire as the default county.
Click the down arrow alongside Oxfordshire, find the category that best suits your listing and click the Continue button
Or:
Using the Browse tab, navigate to the category that best suits your listing and click the button "Place your ad in this Category", you will be taken stright to Step 2.
Now you will have three package options to choose from:
Free listing
14 Day Feature
28 Day Feature
The 14 and 28 day Features will put your ad at the top of the page of the chosen category and in rotation on the YappyDo home page for the feature duration chosen.
All ads, including the free listing will appear on YappyDo.com immediately.
If you have been given a Voucher Code, choose one of the feature packages, the voucher code will be entered in Step 3.
When the 'Select this package' button has been pressed, Step 3 page is opened.
In the Title box, enter a brief description of your listing.
Enter your sales price in the Price box. You may want to leave blank if, for instance, you are advertising your services/business or want to give the goods away.
If you have chosen a Feature package, there is the opportunity to enter a URL that will point to an external website. This could be used to link to your website or maybe a UTube/ebay listing. You must make sure that the link is prefixed with 'http://'.
ie. 'http://www.mysite.com'.
We do not mind users of YappyDo advertising their own business and services and having a link from YappyDo to their site.
Please consider putting a link from your site to YappyDo and letting us know, we will improve any listing that helps promote YappyDo.
Enter the full description for the products, goods or services that you are offering in the Description box. There is a maximum of 5000 characters.
Using the optional Postal Code will allow other users to do a distance based search when they are searching for a particular product.
Extra Options
Use these fields to promote your listing, if the 28 day Feature package has been chosen these fields have already been upgraded for you. The 14 day Feature and Free Listing packages gives you the option to make your listing bold and/or highlighted for a very small fee.
When satisfied with the fields that have been filled in, click the Continue button.
This page will allow you to load up pictures or images to help sell your items or services. This is optional and if no images are loaded, the "No image supplied" logo will be used instead.
The 14 and 28 day Feature packages will allow up to 8 images/pictures, the other packages allow for 4 images/pictures.
Click the Browse button and a small window will open allowing you to locate on your local computer the image you wish to load. Image formats allowed are - .gif, .jpg, .jpeg and .png. If you are unsure about using images, continue without loading any pictures and contact us with your details, we will be willing to re-format your image and load it for you.
Then click the Add Image button, this will load your image to the YappyDo server so that it can be used in your listing. If the image is large, please be patient.
There is an optional box to enter a Title for each image.
Repeat the above for uploading other images up to the maximum allowed. As images are loaded, they will be displayed in the top of this page and will be shown how they will appear in your listing.
Once complete, click Next Step and proceed to Step 5
Here you can enter your displayed telephone number and also you can enter your postcode. This postcode field is used by YappyDo's search engine for users to search items that are based with a certain distance from their location.
Click the Continue button for the final step.
Happy with your listing, click Continue. The listing is now live.
